SCANNING - software for HP-PA/NeXT/Intel


Munich, December 21, ipc -- ScanOmatic 1.2, is now available!

Confirmed by the success of the first ScanOmatic release we happily
announce the new release. ScanOmatic was primary designed for those
users, which don't want to read hundreds of manual pages or to join
DTP classes before getting a simple, digital copy of a document. But
there was also the demand of the professional users for more scanner
support on NEXTSTEP. This made us to develop an application which
meets both points of view with a customizable user interface and
strictly designed control elements.
But why talking, just download the application and test it, even
without having a scanner attached.


SUPPORTED SCANNERS
==================
HP ScanJet:  II, IIc, IIcx, IIp, IIIp
Umax:        UC630, UC300, UC1200S, UG80
HSD:         color, mono
XRS:         RSU-1, x-ray scanner
And any SCSI scanner, which offers a compatible mode to one of these.


Architectures and NEXTSTEP Releases
===================================
We support ALL shipping architectures (INTEL, MOTOROLA and HP).
Due to differences in SCSI support on Intel and HP you are invited
to test it with your configuration before paying for a license.


ONE STEP SCANNING
=================
Now even the business user is able to scan stunning results without
the need to adjust complicated settings. Once you have chosen your
favorite configurations, you have up to 6 of them at your fingertips.
Professional user have of course all all options available.


SCANNING AS A SERVICE
=====================
Imagine, you are in your word processor and quickly need a scan of
a photo -- just click on your Service Menu an start a scan with one
of your presettings. Filtering, hardware adjustments, all will be
applied automatically and the image finally placed in your text.


HARDWARE & SOFTWARE FILTERS
===========================
ScanOmatic uses the scanner built in filters and options of each
of the supported scanners. Additionally you may enhance scanned
images with a set of fast software filters. (tint, rotate,
equalization, brightness, scale...)
